What’s in My Makeup Bag?

There is something intriguing about sifting through the contents of someone else’s makeup bag. It’s because you know that these are the essentials – the things that you need, otherwise all hell breaks loose! (Okay, a little dramatic I know, but you know what I mean) =)

Here’s what I have in my makeup bag:

  • Hand lotion
  • Rollerball perfume
  • Mirror (gifted to me when I received a gift card from Sephora)
  • 5 lip products (it’s not excessive, it’s a necessity).

Other things that are in my makeup bag that I didn’t include in the photos are: band-aids, eye drops, Halls, Advil, Tide To Go and a pen. See, I can be practical too. =) But if you want to learn more about the somewhat impractical stuff, then read on…

eos Everyday Hand Lotion: One of my favourite hand lotions to keep with me on the go (bonus: it’s paraben free!) The size is perfect for a makeup or handbag and doesn’t take up a lot of room. I do prefer the pink one more, but thought I’d change it up with the blue lotion. This one has a floral scent, whereas the pink one is more fruity. Whichever scent you pick, the hand lotions are effective at keeping my hands soft and moisturized.

Taylor Swift Wonderstruck Rollerball Perfume: Yes, Taylor Swift. At first, you may think the scent is vomitrocious and best suited for a 16-year-old girl, but I love it! I like sweet scents, so this is right up my alley. I like keeping a rollerball with me for touch ups because nobody wants to be the smelly kid.

Kat Von D Studded Kiss Lipstick in Lolita: I love this lipstick! It’s a pinky mauve colour that I think would be universally flattering on all skintones. The smell of these lipsticks are divine (think the vanilla scent of a MAC lipstick, but 10x better). It’s a very matte lipstick, so it can be drying if you don’t prep your lips beforehand.

Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in Rose Velvet: If you are looking for something like the Kat Von D lipstick in Lolita, but for half the price, then you will love this. The colour is almost identical (I would say that the Revlon lipstick is a touch browner) and the formula of the Revlon lipstick is creamier, so not as drying as the Kat Von D lipstick. Why do I need both? Just ’cause ok. JUST ‘CAUSE. *runs away*

Bite Beauty Matte Crème Lip Crayon in Glacé and Bite Beauty Luminous Creme Lipstick Duo in Fig/Date: I mentioned this in my previous post so I won’t go into too much detail, but the matte creme lip crayons do not dry out my lips and I love the colour for everyday. The duo is great too and I like to layer that on top of the lip crayon.

Mac Pro Longwear Lip Pencil in Nice N Spicy: You know a product is loved when it’s mentioned in more than one blog post (here and here). This lip pencil is a staple in my collection. It’s the perfect neutral lip for my skintone and I have a backup of this for when I run out!

Shoutout to my talented friend Bushra for taking these amazing photos for my blog post! They were taken in a bowling alley, thus the funky lighting. :) Be sure to check out her account on Instagram for more awesome photos.

Hope you had fun perusing my makeup bag! If you have any questions or concerns, leave a comment on this post and I will respond. :) Thanks for reading!

Why are parabens an issue? Also, I am fully taking up the practical stuff inspiration and rollerball perfume from you! Thanks!

There is strong research to suggest that parabens are carcinogenic. I try my best to avoid them. Definitely do some more research, there’s tons of stuff on Google! Glad you found this post useful. :)

I’m loving Marc Jacobs Dot right now, it comes in a rollerball! If you like fresh, fruity scents, maybe give it a try. :)
