Review | Inglot Eyeshadows: How Do They Compare To Makeup Geek & MAC?

Inglot Eyeshadow Review

My Inglot Freedom System Eyeshadow Palette

In my previous post, I reviewed Makeup Geek eyeshadows and I mentioned that I didn’t feel like they were on the same level as Inglot in terms of pigmentation. Inglot eyeshadows are highly pigmented! In terms of quality and bang-for-your-buck, they are some of my favourite brand of eyeshadows.

How Do Inglot Eyeshadows Compare To Makeup Geek and MAC?

I really wanted to highlight the bang-for-your-buck factor in a simple way, so please refer to the chart below. :)

Brand Price (CAD) Weight Unit Cost
Inglot $8.00 3.2 g $2.50 per gram
Makeup Geek ~$6.50* 1.8 g ~$3.61* per gram
MAC $12.00 1.5 g $8.00 per gram
*Makeup Geek prices depend on the exchange rate (they are $5.99 USD).

As you can see, when you buy an Inglot eyeshadow, you are getting way more product than a Makeup Geek or MAC eyeshadow and paying less! However, you have to take into consideration a few things.

The Convenience Factor

There is nothing better than walking into a store and being able to swatch eyeshadows on your own. The downside to Inglot and Makeup Geek is the fact that you will most likely have to buy their products online if you live in Canada (unless you are lucky and you live close to the store in Montreal!)

When I purchased my Inglot eyeshadows, I spent a really long time looking at swatches online, trying to figure out the perfect colours for my palette. So if you plan to purchase Inglot eyeshadows, you will have to take that into consideration.

Onward To The Swatches!

Inglot Eyeshadow Review: Matte 328, Matte 337, Matte 357, Matte 327 & AMC 63

Inglot Eyeshadow Swatches: Matte 328, Matte 337, Matte 357, Matte 327 & AMC 63

Inglot Eyeshadow Swatches (From Left To Right): Matte 328, Matte 337, Matte 357, Matte 327 & AMC 63

You may be able to spot a dud in the bunch. Matte 337 doesn’t swatch as nicely as the other eyeshadows. However, on the eye, it doesn’t look as chalky as it does in the photo, but it does take a bit more effort to work with than the others. Matte 337 is a warm milk chocolate brown.

Matte 328 was a colour I initially bought as a matte browbone highlight. It actually doesn’t show up on my skin at all when I blend it out, but it’s my most used eyeshadow out of them all and I’ve made a significant dent in the pan. I pack this colour all over the lid (with either 337 or 357 in the crease) and it makes me look a lot more awake. I also use it to clean up my eyeshadow looks if I’ve brought them too high up to my eyebrow — it sort of acts like my personal eyeshadow eraser.

Matte 357 is a few shades darker than Matte 337 — a buttery, warm, mid-toned brown. Matte 328 is a deeper, warm-toned, espresso shade. And AMC 63 is the blackest eyeshadow you will ever swatch! I have yet to come across any eyeshadow that is as black as this.

The Final Verdict

Inglot eyeshadows are a win for me! It’s a shame that they don’t have a retail store in Toronto. I hope that Inglot plans to expand to other parts of Canada because I would love to build a larger collection of their eyeshadows in my makeup stash. But for now, I’m happy with the five that I have. :)

So I randomly stumbled upon this blog and I was like, hey the writing style is pretty familiar.
Hi. :D I like this blog.

I’m going to check out inglot eyeshadow now. Can you talk about foundation too? I’m pretty illiterate when it comes to make up.

I have so many eyeshadow palettes right now I couldn’t possibly justify treating myself to an inglot one but I’ve always loved the look of the packaging and creating your own!
That matte dark brown shade looks amazing! I can almost feel the creaminess from my laptop screen haha!

Lol!! They are soo creamy, I really want to get my hands on more Inglot eyeshadows. They’re not too pricy compared to other brands so I think they’re definitely worth adding to your collection! :)

Right?! I feel the same way. The quality of Inglot eyeshadows is unreal and they’re so underrated!

You should try the pearl ones. They are so buttery smooth. I suggest you numbers: 397- similar to all that glitters by MAC, 156- gold muted all day color, 160- pink, purple color with silver. They are my favorite colors
